For many of our students getting to and from school each day requires them to travel medium to long distances. Students have a range of transport options available to them.
We are fortunate at Paraparaumu College that we have a number of cycle tracks and paths within our school zone, this mean that the College is very accessible for students who wish to bike to school.
During the day, bicycles should be locked up in the cycle racks available out front of F block and the auditorium
Bicycles must not be ridden in the school grounds while the College is open
Peka Peka and Reikorangi
The Ministry of Education appointed bus provider is Madge Coachlines who run the school bus services from Peka Peka and Reikorangi to Paraparaumu College. Madge Coachlines have contracted Uzabus to provide these services.
These buses are for students who live in Peka Peka and Reikorangi only, and these students will be issued with a bus pass from the school in the first few weeks of the start of the school year. This pass is paid for by the Ministry.
Arrangements for the Peka Peka and Reikorangi bus services are organised by the Ministry of Education, rather than the school.
Te Horo
Students who live in Te Horo or north will need to use the 290 service from Otaki using a Snapper card then transfer for free on to the next school service at Countdown Waikanae (within a 30 minute period). Please see the Metlink website for timetables.

Other information
School bus cancellations are extremely rare, but can happen in the case of vehicle breakdowns and other emergencies. We recommend parents check service alerts for their school service, and register for notifications via MyMetlink.
We recommend caregivers and students have a backup plan in case they miss the bus, or if the bus is full and cannot pick them up.
Bus rules apply on school services, including rules about food and drink, noise, and behaviour as described in the Conditions of carriage.
Drivers do their best to manage behaviour on the bus, including bullying, but they may not always see it happening or be able to intervene while driving. We encourage students to talk to caregivers or school staff if they experience or witness bullying of any kind.
Contact the Metlink Service Centre for lost property.
Students are allowed to drive vehicles to school and park in the car park outside the College gates. All students must follow the school rules and laws and conditions of the licence they hold.
Students must consider local residents and be courteous in the behaviour, parking and use of vehicles.
